Croeso I Gymru! Welcome to Wales!
Welsh evolved from Common Brittonic, the Celtic language spoken by the ancient Celtic Britons.
When passing the Prince of Wales Bridge crossing the river Severn, you will find the “Welcome to Wales” sign. And you know it. Next to English, Welsh is the official language spoken here and you will find it everywhere. Actually next to Welsh there are five other living Celtic languages: the four continuously living languages Breton, Irish, Scottish Gaelic, and the two revived languages Cornish and Manx.
The Capital of Wales is Cardiff: An amazing city by the sea. With a Castle in the city centre, amazing stores in the malls, arcades and in the streets, restaurants, pubs… you name it! Passing Cardiff, continuing to the west, about 45m later you enter the Swansea bay, where Swansea is the 2nd largest city of Wales.
Behind the Swansea bay, the stunning coastal area arises. Langland Bay, Caswell Bay, Three Cliffs Bay, Oxwich Bay, Rhossili Bay and so on. Amazing for walking, running, cycling, surfing….
Inlands you will find the Gower. The Gower is a peninsula in South Wales, extending west from Swansea and bordered by the Bristol Channel. It’s a renowned Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), famous for its dramatic coastline, sandy beaches, and rich cultural history.
And at the corner, in Langland Bay, On the Langland Bay Road nr.1 you will find the Langland Bay Manor Estate. Welcome to our apartment!
